Prof. Dr. Lars Bäckman holds a professorship at the Aging Research Center, Karolinska Institute, in Stockholm, Sweden. He is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the European Academy of Sciences and has published several books and over 300 papers in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. His primary research area is cognition in normal and pathological aging, with a special focus on memory.
